Velvet Graves began her illustrious career in producing and
designing special events through her early work in television.
Her experience as a television field reporter led to her
successful involvement in numerous prestigious events:
Grammy/Oscar/Golden Globes/Fundraisers & Corporate.
By learning about the use of
props and set design to make each shoot more interesting
visually, she was in fact developing her knowledge of what would
be her future career.
The desire to segue into special event planning was
overpowering. It
represented the glamour that had always sparked her imagination
combined with the love of producing “the big picture” while
making sure that the smallest detail is perfect.
The result, of course, has always been magic.
In film and television when subcontracted by set designers she
learned everything from mechanics to continuity, from visual
story telling to budgets, logistics, and camera-ready
perfection.
In 1993 Velvet started project managing and coordinating
corporate events, star-studded galas and fundraising soirees.
In her foray into large scale events she learned quickly
the importance of troubleshooting/problem solving, diplomacy,
patience and persistence.
A high energy professional with leadership qualities and
team spirit, she inspires everyone with whom she does business.
Her consistently positive attitude and desire for
perfection make clients loyal and great collaborators.
She brings a style and panache that clients, both
domestic and international, love.
“I always knew that the work was going to be difficult, “says
Velvet, “but it’s always extremely rewarding.
When you see the guests’ faces as they enter the room
it’s like magic.”
